$50,000 For Three-Year- Olds And Upward Five Furlongs - Turf Course Sunday, July 6, 2003 Race 6 Track: Fast Turf: Firm Finish Wire: Rudirudy took the field into the stretch getting the half mile in snappy 43.98. Nearing the wire the leader gave way to the oncoming Jeb’s Wild who drew clear in the final yards to win the Mc Sorley in a final time of 55.57 a length and one-half in front of Ghostly Numbers, who was outfinished for the win, but earned the place spot as Namequest finished well for third. Jeb’s Wild is a four-year-old bay colt owned by Thomas L. Croley, trained by Timothy A. Hills and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

$50,000 For Three-Year-Old Fillies One And One-Sixteenth Miles - Turf Course Sunday, July 6, 2003 Race 10 Track: Fast Turf: Firm Finish Wire: Impolite
was put on the lead after the brake and led the field through the opening
mile setting early fractions of 24.44, 49.29, 1:13.03 and 1:36.35, as the
field never got within a length of the leader. Commander's Lady tried to run with the leader for the first three-quarters
before giving way to Marc's Rainbow who tried to wrestle the lead from
Impolite. Impolite came
under steady handling entering the stretch and responded gamely to score a
one length victory over Film Maker, who rated off the pace in the four path,
angled in entering the stretch, rallied a furlong out, gathered momentum
late and just got up for place. Marc's
Rainbow closed well then was outfinished late for place settling for the
show spot. Impolite is a
three-year-old gray/roan filly owned by Ray
Noble, trained by Linda Rice and was ridden by Jose Ferrer.

The Long Branch Breeders' Cup Stakes (69th Running) Grade III $100,000 For Three-Year-Olds One And One-Sixteenth Miles - Main Track Saturday, July 12, 2003 Race 9 Track: Fast Turf: Firm Finish Wire: Chilly Rooster cleared the field from the outside post and led the field through the opening half-mile in a leisurely 48.12. A half-length back in second, Max Forever, was steadying in behind the leader anxious to go on for the lead while Christine’s Outlaw rated another length and one-half back in third. At the half-mile pole Max Forever shot through an opening on the rail and put a head in front before Chilly Rooster responded regaining the lead in the far turn as Max Forever was forced back into the third as Christine’s Outlaw was three-wide in second as the field entered the stretch. In deep stretch Max Forever saved ground while contesting the lead then responded gamely to prevail over Christine’s Outlaw at the wire in a game stretch drive. Christine’s Outlaw was outfinished for the win but managed the place spot as early pacesetter Chilly Rooster settled for the show spot. Max Forever is a three-year-old dark bay/brown colt owned by Raymond and Dorothy Dweck, trained by Benjamin W. Perkins, Jr., and was ridden by Jose Ferrer.

$50,000 For Three-Year-Olds And Upward One And One-Sixteenth Miles - Haskell Turf Course Sunday, July 13, 2003 Race 8 Track: Fast Turf: Firm Finish Wire:
Magical Madness led the field through the opening three-quarters in a
swift 1:09.94.
Spruce Run was pressing the pace a head back in second while Run To
Victory was two lengths back in third.
Magical Madness carried the lead through the turn and into the
stretch as Sir Brian’s Sword closed the gap three wide on the turn, made a
run to challenge in midstretch then edged clear in the final seventy yards
for the victory in The Elkwood Stakes.
Autonomy (IRE) advanced wide into the stretch then closed steadily in
the middle of the track but ran out of room settling for second while
American Freedom raced in traffic midway on the turn, launched a bid five
wide entering the stretch, then rallied belatedly for the show spot.
Sir Brain’s Sword is a five-year-old dark bay/brown gelding owned
by Jeb Racing Stable, Inc., trained by Christophe Clement and was ridden by
Joe Bravo.

$50,000 For Fillies, Three-Years-Old Six Furlongs - Main Track Sunday, July 13, 2003 Race 9 Track: Fast Turf: Firm Finish Wire: Follow Me Home took the lead from the gate and never looked back setting fractions of 21.96 and 44.21 while opening up a one and one-half length lead over Travelator in second as Home Run Hitter was trying to maintain the pace in third. Follow Me Home was in hand into upper stretch then edged away through the final eighth for a three and one-half length victory in The Candy Eclair Stakes. Travelator chased the winner the entire way but was no match for that one while holding well for the place. Holiday Runner raced within striking distance while three wide for a half and finished willingly for show. Follow Me Home is a three-year-old dark bay/brown filly owned by Robert Braunsdorf and Robert Levine, trained by Robert L. Levine and was ridden by Julian Pimentel.

Special took the lead after leaving the gate and led the field through a
snappy opening quarter of 21.53 and an equally impressive half-mile in
43.87, carrying a two and one-half length advantage into the stretch. Our Wildcat took the second spot from River Power, who was
dropping back in third, after chasing the leader early on.
In deep stretch, Sheryar Special was starting to weaken after setting
early torrid fractions but held off a rapidly closing Our Wildcat at the
wire by three-quarters of a length to win The Bernie Dowd Handicap.
Our Wildcat with a late gain finished second as Beknown To Me finished
willingly for the show spot. Sheryar
Special is a five-year-old dark bay/brown horse owned by Chick Ridge LLC,
trained by John S. McCaslin and was ridden by Todd Glasser.

Fair Lady led the field at the three-quarter marker getting the distance in
1:10.50, a length and a half in front of Something Ventured and Love N’
Kiss S. Through the turn and
into the stretch Something Ventured put a head in front, moving three wide
in the far turn as Love N’ Kiss S. was now running second, moving five wide
in the turn. Win’s Fair Lady
was now dropping back in third. In
deep stretch, Something Ventured led gamely, but was outfinished by a neck
at the wire by Stylish, who started her bid through the final turn
then endured a long stretch drive for the win in The Eatontown Handicap.
Something Ventured settled for second as Sweet
Deimos, steadied lacking room at the 1/8 pole, but closed well to finish third. Stylish
is a five-year-old bay mare owned by The Thoroughbred Corporation, trained
by William I. Mott and was ridden by Heberto Castillo, Jr.

Kipper’s Night ran second throughout the race and finished steadily while clear for the place as Hasslefree finished third. Deputy Storm is a two-year-old bay colt owned by James C. Spence, trained by Todd Pletcher and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

Second In Command chased from the outside the entire race and held the place while My Boy Kyle trailed early, saved ground on the turn then gained some late outside for the show spot. Only The Best is a three-year-old bay gelding owned by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin E. Toffel, trained by Bryan Lynch, and was ridden by Carlos Cruz.
