Finish Wire:

Sloppy conditions limited the number of starters to three.  At the break, Gold Streamer broke tardy but quickly rallied along the rail to take the lead as the three horse field moved into the clubhouse turn.  Gold Streamer was three wide in the turn taking Willow Place even wider as the field moved onto the backside.  The field maintained their position down the backside as Gold Streamer led Willow Place in second and Adriatic Queen in third.  Through the far turn and into the homestretch Gold Streamer led the three horse field until the eighth pole when Adriatic Queen found her best stride and moved into second driving on the outside but was a head short as Gold Streamer held on to win at the wire in a time of 1:46:0.  Gold Streamer is a four year old filly owned by  G.W. Humphrey, Jr. and W.S. Farish, trained by G.R. Arnold, II and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

Gold Streamer holds on to win The Inside Information Stakes.

Finish Wire:

The field broke cleanly and all had a good start.  North East Bound led the field into the clubhouse turn by a head over Majestic Jove who was pressing the pace.  Down the backstretch  North East Bound opened up a lead of three-quarters of a length over Majestic Jove followed by Rize and Mi Narrow.  AS the field entered the far turn North East Bound extended his lead to two lengths as Majestic Jove dropped back to third position as Rize moved into second chasing the leader into the homestretch.  North East bound held the lead through the stretch and to the wire to win the Oceanport in impressive fashion by two and one-half lengths on the wire.  North East Bound is a four year old gelding owned by J. DeMarco and R.J. Disano, trained by William Perry and was ridden by Jose Velez, Jr.

 North East Bound wins impressively in the 2000 Oceanport Handicap.

After a good start Debby D'Or and Quick `N Smart scrimmaged for the lead into the far turn.  As the field spun out of the turn and into the stretch Debby D'Or took the lead and drew off as the field helplessly tried to make up ground.  Debby D'Or went on to win 2000 The John McSorley by two lengths at the wire.  Debby D'Or is a five year old mare owned by Albert Lobrillo, trained by D.G. Switzer and was ridden by Stewart Elliott.

The field broke from the gate in good order.  Thistyranthasclass went to the lead as the field moved into the clubhouse turn, pressing the pace was Graeme Hall in second followed by Sun Cat in third position.  Ben The Man was tracking the leaders in fourth position.  The field maintained their position down the backside after posting times of 24:1 and 48:0 for the quarter and half-miles respectively.  Track announcer made comment that the first quarter was run in 24:1, which was, "Not fast".  In the far turn Graeme Hall put a head in front of Thistyranthasclass but gave way to the former leader as the two entered the homestretch neck and neck.  After a battle in the lane Thistyranthasclass drew in front of Graeme Hall and went on to post a one and one-half length victory on the 2000 edition of The Long Branch Stakes. Thistyranthasclass is a three year old colt owned by Roseland Farm Stable, trained by John Tammaro, III and was ridden by Jose Velez, Jr.

Thistyranthasclass wins an invitation to the Haskell Invitational by scoring a victory in the 2000 Long Branch Breeders' Cup Stakes.

The field broke well from the gate except for Cedar Knolls who bobbled at the start.  Island Echo led the field through and opening quarter in 21:4 followed by Apollo Cat in second and My Brent's Diamond in third position.  In mid turn My Brent's Diamond took the lead over Apollo Cat as Cedar Knolls loomed on the outside.  At the top of the stretch My Brent's Diamond had the lead and was then past in deep stretch when Cedar Knolls found her best stride taking the lead and winning by a length.  Cedar Knolls is a three year old filly owned by Aliyuee Ben J. Stables, trained by James T. Ryerson and was ridden by Jose Ferrer.

Delaware Township broke through the gate before the start of the race delaying the start of the race by ten minutes.  When the race started Delaware Township took the lead, after a good start, and raced into the clubhouse turn a bit wide in the three path running the first quarter in 24:0.  Leave It To Beezer ran second and Vicar ran in third position.  The field maintained its position down the backside as Delaware Township ran the half-mile in 48:0.  As the field made their way through the far turn and into the stretch Leave It To Beezer drew alongside Delaware Township running three quarters in 1:12:1.  In deep stretch Leave It To Beezer drew off to win The Salvatore Handicap by a quarter of a length at the wire.  Leave It To Beezer is a seven year old gelding owned by The Leo Gaspari Racing Stable, Inc., trained by Scott A. Lake and was ridden by Roberto Alvarado, Jr.

Leave It To Beezer wins The Salvatore Mile Handicap with Roberto Alvarado, Jr., in the irons.

The entire field had a good start.  The Third Dan, Heather Louise and Red Weasel scrimmaged for the lead down the backside.  Into the far turn The Third Dan took a half-length lead and carried it to the top of the lane.  As the field straightened out in the stretch The Third Dan took a one-length lead as Loaded Gun moved into second position after a four-wide move through the turn.  At the seventy-yard pole Loaded Gun took the lead and drew off by a length to win as The Third Dan held on for second.  Loaded Gun is a five year old horse owned and trained by Janis L. Gerace and was ridden by Roberto Alvarado, Jr.

Rose Bay gained the lead after the start and led the field through an opening quarter of 21:3 followed closely by Stormy Pick and Queen Carson, who was slow at the start and then rushed into contention.  Through the turn and into the stretch Stormy Pick took the lead over Rose Bay and Queen Carson who was now finding her best stride at the top of the lane.  At the sixteenth pole Queen Carson put a head in front of Stormy Pick, as the two left the field behind, and went on to win the Coleen by a half-length.  Queen Carson is a two year old filly owned by Padua Stable, trained by D. Wayne Lukas and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

After a good start Sweep Well took the lead followed by Get My Glitter and General Express.  As the field moved through the far turn and into the stretch Sweep Well was three wide as General Express moved into second place and Man On The Go was gaining in third position.  Approaching the wire Sweep Well maintained a two and one-quarter length lead and went on to the victory in a time of 56:2.  Sweep Well is a four year old colt owned by Noreen Carpentino, trained by William W. Perry and was ridden by Stewart Elliot.

Sweep Well, ridden by Stewart Elliott, is victorious in The Sneakbox Stakes.

Prized Stamp took the early lead after the field was sent off to a good start.  Entering the clubhouse turn Prized Stamp had cleared the field from the outside post and led by a length and one-half over Spain and North Lake Jane who was challenging in third position.    Prized Stamp ran the opening quarter in 23:4 and led the field down the backside as Spain was still second and Lorie Darlin ran third, a head in front of North Lake Jane.  Prized Stamp led into the stretch before Spain came with her best run at the eighth pole to take the lead and draw off to win by four lengths in impressive fashion to win The Monmouth Breeders' Cup Oaks.  Spain is a three year old filly owned by The Thoroughbred Corporation, trained by D. Wayne Lukas and was ridden by Jose Velez, Jr.

At the start Take Arms hopped out of the gate.  The rest of the field broke cleanly as Snow Ridge took the lead and ran the opening quarter in 21:2 building a half-length lead over Potomic City and High Ideal.  Into the stretch Snow Ridge had a two length lead as Potomic City lugged in at the top of the lane while  High Ideal and Waltz King were gaining ground.  In deep stretch, Waltz King got up to beat his stable mate High Ideal by a nose on the wire to win The Tyro.  Waltz King is a two year old colt owned by Holly Crest Farm, trained by John F. Mazza and was ridden by Dale Beckner.

Waltz King gets up at the wire to win The Tyro Stakes.
