After a good start Spain took the early lead entering the first turn as Atelier was running second and Summer Colony was running third.  As the field raced through the turn Spain drifted a bit wide from the rail giving Atelier the opening to slip through on the inside to take the lead entering the backstretch.  Atelier ran the opening quarter in 23.90 as Spain settled in second while Summer Colony was another head back in third.  Down the backside Atelier continued to lead as Spain took up the chase in second.
