Finish Wire:

Native Heir broke sharply from the one hole and took to the lead while Go Rail Go pressed the leader from the outside in second.  Native Heir ran in the three path and blazed the opening quarter mile in 21.81 and then got the half in and equally impressive 44.88 en route to a hard fought three-quarter length victory in a final time of 57.10.  Jeb's Wild chased the pace the entire way from the outside, running four wide in the turn and gained late for second while Go Rail Go tired in the lane from chasing the leader and finished third. Native Heir is a five-year-old bay gelding owned by Michael Gill, trained by Mark Shuman and was ridden by Jeremy Rose.

In a driving rain storm Native Heir holds off Jeb's Wild to win The Wolf Hill Stakes, with Jeremy Rose in the irons.

Finish Wire:

Pocus Hocus took the lead as the field moved by the three-quarter marker in a time of 1:11.31 a length and one-half in front of Annatoga.  Entering the stretch Tonight's Wager, who was unhurried early on, looped the field on the far turn and was driving into the lane taking the lead from Pocus Hocus and Annatoga.  In deep stretch, Tonight's Wager drew clear by two and one-half lengths eventually win The Monmouth Beach by four and one-half lengths on the wire in a final time of 1:43.54.  Annatoga, while no match for the winner, was clear for second a length and one-half in front of Dance The Slew who finished third. Tonight's Wager is a five-year-old chestnut mare owned by Ervin Rodriquez, trained by William I. Mott and was ridden by Dale Beckner.

Astrid and Pali Princess exchanged the lead at the half mile pole as Balmy tracked the leaders intently in third position. Pali Princess ran the half-mile in swift 44.77 leading the pack into the stretch. In deep stretch Slews Final Answer had eased out into the lane, after saving ground early on, and drew clear at the eighth pole to win the West Long Branch Stakes by five and three-quarters lengths in a final time of 1:09.06. Belle Artiste finished well for the place spot as Balmy weakened in the lane but held on for show. Slews Final Answer is a four-year-old bay filly owned by Live Oak Plantation, trained by William I. Mott and was ridden by Julian Pimentel.

Saint Verre led the field through the opening three-quarters of a mile in a quick 1:09.76 while maintaining a half length lead over Balto Star, who pressed the leader the entire way. Entering the stretch Balto Star put a head in front of the leader and ran gamely through the stretch before being outfinished in the final sixteenth of a mile by Runspastum, who was three wide in the turn and then steadily advance through the stretch to gain the lead with seventy yards to go, drawing off to a one and three-quarter lengths victory in a final time of 1:42.31. Runspastum is a six-year-old bay horse owned by Jayeff B. Stables, trained by Alan E. Goldberg and was ridden by Julian Pimentel.

Runspastum wins the Oceanport Handicap with Julian Pimentel in the irons.

Raise The Stripes led Sky Soldier for three-quarters of a mile in 1:11.51. Moving to the front between calls on the final turn, Sky Soldier, raced head and head with Raise The Stripes into mid-stretch then finished determinedly, edging clear at the wire stopping the tele-timer in a final time of 1:38.45 for the victory in The $50,000 Restoration Stakes. Deadline finished a game second as Poppy's Image closed well late for third.  Sky Soldier is a three-year-old chestnut colt owned by Arthur E. Vickers, trained by Todd M. Beattie and was ridden by Mark Salvaggio.

Tommy Turner sent Forever Monteiro to the lead after the start and set the pace for the first three-quarters in 1:12:61 while saving ground the entire way.  Maybe Jack pressed the leader in second and moved within a head on the final turn as the two leaders entered the stretch a length in front of Call Me Lightning, who was trying to gain in third.  In deep stretch, Forever Monteiro responded and gamely held off Maybe Jack by three-quarters of a length at the wire to win the second leg of the Malouf Starter Series in a final time of 1:45.19.  Maybe Jack finished willingly for second as Call Me Lightning got the show spot.  Forever Monteiro is a four-year-old bay colt owned by Lowell W. Kinch, trained by Thomas S. McCooey, Jr. and was ridden Tommy Turner.

Tommy Turner rides Forever Monteiro to victory in the second leg of the Malouf Series.

Follow Me Home vied for the early lead with Trick Again before taking the lead after the first quarter mile in a snappy 21.61.  Trupon On stalked the leaders as the field made its way through the turn into the stretch where Follow Me Home continued to lead by a narrow neck.   Nearing the wire Follow Me Home drove clear and won the Crank It Up Stakes by two lengths at the wire.  Trupon On ran a game second as Uphill Skier gained late for the show spot.  Follow Me Home is a three-year-old dark bay/brown filly owned by Robert Braunsdorf and Robert Levine, trained by Robert Levine and was ridden by Julian Pimentel.

Finish Wire:

Bad weather and a sloppy track reduced the field to six runners.   City Fire rated the pace down on the fence and carved out early fractions of 22.56, 46.16 and 1:11.32 leading the field into the stretch two lengths in front of Lake Kinneret.  Double Scoop was gaining in third position as the leaders drove to the wire.  Inside the sixteenth pole Lake Kinneret  drew alongside City Fire and then edged ahead at the seventy yard pole holding on for a three-quarter length victory in a final time of 1:43.13.  City Fire, outfinished at the wire, ran a determined second as Double Scoop was third best. Lake Kinneret  is a three-year-old chestnut filly owned by Tommy Young, trained by Bobby C. Barnett and was ridden by Chuck C. Lopez.

Lake Kinneret edges City Fire to win The Post Deb Stakes.

Pioneer Boy led the field by a length through the opening half-mile in a quick 44.91 as the field turned for home.  In the lane the leader started to weaken as It’s A Monster, who split horses at the quarter pole, took the lead and drew off to a one and one-quarter lengths victory in a final time of 1:09.66 to win The Longfellow Stakes.  Fetch Dinner got up for the place spot as Pioneer Boy, after setting the early pace, held on show.  It’s A Monster is a four-year-old chestnut colt owned by New Farm, trained by Ben Perkins, Jr. and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

Firecard took a head length lead over Willie’s Luv passing the quarter pole running three-quarters in 1:11.40.  In the lane, Willie’s Luv drew up alongside and then dueled with the leader before drawing away with seventy yards to go stopping the teletimer at the mile distance in 1:38.04 winning the Santo Lalomia Handicap by one and one-half lengths at the wire.  Firecard, after setting the early pace, yielded the lead late and settled for second as Cigno d’Oro was another three-quarters of a length back gaining for third.  Willie’s Luv is a four-year-old bay filly owned by Freedom Acres, Inc., trained by Jamie Woodington and was ridden by Joe Bravo.
