After a good start Buzzy's Gold took early command of the lead, Electric Guitar tracked the leader a half-length behind in second as Valid Video ran another two lengths back in third position. Buzzy's Gold opened up by a length and half at the quarter mile marker in a time of 22.21 as Electric Guitar could not stay with the leader. Valid Video was now two lengths back as the field made it way through the lane. Buzzy's Gold moved out to a three length advantage running the half in 45.05 and drew off to win the opening stake of the meet, The Gilded Time Stakes, by two and three-quarter lengths at the wire. Valid Video chased the leader the entire way and was second best getting the place spot as Rockin On Ready gained for the show spot. Buzzy's Gold is a three-year-old chestnut colt, owned by Martin S. Schwartz, trained by Linda Rice and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

Sheryar Special led the field through the opening quarter in a swift 21.76 a head in front of Country Music as the two leaders opened up a two and one half length lead as the field moved through the turn. The speed duel on the front end intensified through the turn as Country Music put a head in front of Sheryar Special as the front runners lead over the rest of the field was cut to a length and a half. Country Music ran the half-mile in a fast 44.87 as the field moved into the stretch. In deep stretch, Jersey Giant, after a three wide move through the turn, found his best stride and got up late to score a three-quarter length victory over Beknown To Me, who was also closing well to get second. Our Wildcat, after tracking the leaders in third for most of the race, eventually finished in third position as the early front runners faded to last. Jersey Giant is a four-year-old dark bay/brown colt, owned by Joel A. Kligman, trained by James T. Ryerson and was ridden by Julian Pimentel.

Just Le Facts led the field through the entire first half-mile running the opening fractions in 22.52 and 46.86. Saint Verre rated close behind the leader in the three path while Seattle Glory ran in third a length in front of Runspastum in fourth. As the field made its way through the far turn Just Le Facts was still rating on the lead getting six furlongs in a moderate 1:11.50 and ran a clear path into the lane. Saint Verre was in good striking distance in second while Runspastum took over third position.  Seattle Glory lacked response entering the stretch. Nearing the wire Just Le Facts had opened his lead to a full length and then held on by a neck to win the Red Bank Handicap in a final time of 1:37.73. Saint Verre, after rating second the entire race, closed well just missing in the second spot as Runspastum finished well for third. Just Le Facts is a four-year-old chestnut colt, owned by Mack Fehsenfeld, trained by Dennis J. Manning and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

Just Le Facts holds off Saint Verre to earn the victory in the 30th running of The Red Bank Handicap.

Tangier Sound led the field through a half mile in 45.39 as Pali Princess pushed the leader a neck back in second. Melody of Colors ran another length and a half back in third as the field neared the wire. In the final eighth mile Pali Princess took the lead and held off a fast closing Barbara O'Brien by a nose to win the Thomas J. Malley in a final time of 58.55. Barbara O'Brien finished a hard fought second while Boundanddetermined finished another two and one-quarter lengths back in third position. Pali Princess is a four-year-old dark bay/brown filly owned by Edward T. McGrath, trained by Michael Miceli and was ridden by Jose Velez, Jr.

Classic Endeavor took the early lead and never looked back making every pole a winning one holding off a fast closing Iron Chancellor by a length at the wire, in a game front running effort, to win the Frisk Me Know Stakes in final time of 1:41.09 over a main track rated as good. Iron Chancellor dropped back early on and closed well for the place spot as My Request after chasing the leader into deep stretch held on for the show spot. Classic Endeavor is five-year-old dark bay/brown horse, owned and trained by Herbert T. Schwartz and was ridden by Chuck C. Lopez.

Shoalihs Tale cleared the field from his outside post and led through an opening half mile in 47.88. Angelic Aura ran a half length off the leader in second as Stone Canyon ran another half length back in third position. Angelic Aura put a head in front of Shoalihs Tale at the six furlong marker getting the distance in a moderate 1:12.85 as Shoalihs Tale was starting to give way in second while Stone Canyon continued on in third position. In deep stretch, Angelic Aura started to weaken on the lead as Stone Canyon was closing well. Happy Trails finally found running room late and hooked Angelic Aura nearing the wire and drew clear in the final sixteenth to win The Jersey Derby by two and one-quarter lengths at the wire in a final time of 1:45.40. Stone Canyon after weakening for the win managed the place spot as Angelic Aura held on for third. Happy Trials is a three-year-old dark bay/brown colt owned by Sanford J. Goldfarb, trained by Steve B. Klesaris and was ridden by Abdiel Toribio.

City Fire took command after the break and led the field from wire to wire running the mile in 1:37:91 en route to victory in the $50,000 Revidere Stakes by two and one-half lengths.  Ladyecho, who rated third behind the frontrunners early on, was second best while Impolite, who pressed the pace for three-quarters of a mile, weekend in the lane and finished third.  City Fire is a three-year-old bay filly owned by Michael Gill, trained by Mark Shuman and was ridden by Jeremy Rose.

Heroic Sight put a head in front at the half-mile pole in a moderate 47.23, as Forever Monteiro was on the pace in second position two lengths in front of Maybe Jack who was rating nicely in third position.  In the far turn Maybe Jack made a three wide move into second place a length behind Heroic Sight who was still on the lead as the field entered the stretch.  In the stretch Maybe Jack hooked Heroic Sight and then drew clear extending his lead passing the sixteenth pole winning the first leg of the Malouf series by four and one quarter lengths at the wire in a final time of 1:37.75.  Forever Monteiro finished evenly through the lane to get the place spot as Heroic Sight held on for third.  Maybe Jack is a ten-year-old gelding owned and trained by Eddie Broome and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

Finish Wire:

Uphill Skier broke well and was placed between rivals early on leading the field through the opening quarter in a brisk 21.98.  Whoop’s Ah Daisy pressed the leader a half-length back in second while Fashion Idol was another head back in third position.  Through the far turn Uphill Skier extended her lead to three lengths passing the quarter pole getting the half mile in 45.39.  Primary Colors moved from fourth to second position a half-length in front of Whoop’s Ah Daisy, who was giving way after showing early speed.  Through the lane Uphill Skier was widening her lead making every pole a winning one stopping the tele-timer in 1:11.09 winning the Open Mind Handicap by a widening six and three-quarter lengths over Proud and Free, who closed well out finishing Cigno d’Oro for the place spot as the later had to settle for the show spot.  Uphill Skier is a three-year-old bay filly owned by New Farm, trained by Ben Perkins, Jr., and was ridden by Joe Bravo.

 

New Farm's, Uphill Skier, is impressive drawing off to victory in The $50,000 Open Mind Handicap.
