Saturday, July 27, 2002

Conover Stable's three-year-old filly, Tangier Sound #7(Yellow Silks), out duels Melody of Colors (inside) at the wire to win The $50,000 Candy Eclair Stakes.  The James Ryerson trainee covered the five furlongs on the Haskell Turf Course in a snappy 56.43 and runs her record to 2-1-1 out of 10 lifetime starts, now 2-for2 on the weeds.  In other action, Godolphin Racing's, Express Tour, took on seven other opponents in the 55th running of The Grade III Salvator Mile.  Sunday's feature was The Klassy Briefcase Stakes for fillies and mares, three and up, at five furlongs on the Haskell Turf Course.  See the Monmouth Park Page for further stakes racing action.
