Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile Grade I $2,000,000 Guaranteed For Two Year Old Colts and Geldings One and One Sixteenth Miles - Main Track Track: Fast Finish Wire: There were a few horses pinched or stumbling at the break including Circular Quay and U D Ghetto and Matt Magic. Principle Secret would lead the field through the opening half-mile of 46.67 before giving way and being eased. Pegasus Wind would then hold the lead very briefly before giving way to Street Sense who came up the rail to take the lead at the top of the lane and then drew off by ten lengths to win The Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile in a final time of 1:42.59. Circular Quay would close for second after the bad start as Great Hunter would also finished well for third after a rough trip in the first turn. In the lane an oncoming group of closers including Ouija Board Honey Ryder moved to the leader who was desperately trying to hold her slim lead. Nearing the wire Ouija Board showed her class after her five to six wide move in the far turn opening up by two and one-quarter lengths to win The Emirated Airlines Filly & Mare Breeders’ Cup Turf in a final time of 2:14.55. Film Maker would finish second a neck in front of Honey Ryder in third. Attila’s Storm led the field through the opening quarter in a swift 21.55 while Bordonaro and Thor’s Echo chased the leader in second and third. Through the far turn Thor’s Echo was three wide moving into the lead as Attila’s Storm was starting to retreat in second as Bordonaro was still in with a chance in third. Through the lane Thor’s Echo continued to widen his lead drawing off to win The TVG Breeders’ Cup Sprint by four lengths at the wire in a final time of 1:08.80. Brother Derek went to the lead and led through the opening three-quarters in a decent 1:11.11 as Lawyer Ron and Lava Man tracked the leader as the field made its way down the backside into the far turn. In the turn Bernardini, the posttime favorite made a five wide move after being a bit further back than normal, and moved into first place coming off the final turn as the early pacesetters were throwing in the towel. In the lane Invasor, after moving seven wide on the final turn was moving quickly down the middle of the track and passed Bernardini nearing the sixteenth pole and drove to the wire holding off the favorite by a length at the wire to win The Breeders’ Cup Classic, powered by Dodge, in a final time of 2:02.18. Bernardini was second best as it was another two and one-half lengths back to Premium Tap in third.
