Even Sweeter and
Gypsy’s Warning were bumped at the break. Bella D’Oro went to the
lead and led through three-quarters in 1:11.05. Marquet Madness
chased the leader for the opening half-mile with Obsequious in third
position. Romacaca made a three-wide bid in the far turn moving
into second position and then drew away to a two and one-half length
advantage in the lane. Champagnelifestyle was closing on the leader
in second with Golden Galleon also closing in third as the early
leaders were fading after setting the early pace. Through the lane
and to the wire Romacaca held on for a half length victory in a
final time of 1:42.36. Champagnelifestyle was second while
Gypsy’s Warning finished third. Romacaca is a five-year-old dark bay/brown
