Monday, May 30, 2011   Race 6

Main Track: Fast    Turf: Firm

Finish Wire:

Yummy With Butter was off slowly as Ponzi Scheme went to the lead and carried a one length advantage through the opening quarter in 24.04 and the half in 47.51.  Christmas For Liam chased the leader the entire way in front of Yummy With Butter in third.  The order remained the same through the far turn and into the lane as the early fractions had kept Ponzi Scheme fresh enough to draw away in deep stretch to win The 2011 Skip Away Stakes by three lengths at the wire in a final time of 1:43.04.  Yummy With Butter outfinished Christmas For Liam for second with the latter running third.  Ponzi Scheme is a four-year-old chestnut gelding owned by John Koenig, trained by Juan Serey and was ridden by Elvis Trujillo.
