Coco Ecolo led the field
through the opening half mile of 47.27 while Salary Drive and Street
Storm ran second and third a length and a half behind the leader. In
the far turn Coco Ecolo continued on the lead now with just a half
length advantage getting three quarters in 1:11.57. Miss Valentine
was making a three wide bid in second and would take the lead in upper
stretch when Coco Ecolo started to yield. Withgreatpleasure was
starting to close in third as the field made its way through the
stretch. In deep stretch Miss Valentine drew off to win The 2011
Serena’s Song Stakes by three lengths at the wire in a final time of
1:41.35. Withgreatpleasure was second best while Coco Ecolo was
another length and a half back in third. Miss Valentine is a
three-year-old chestnut filly owned by Waterville Lake Stable, trained
by Christophe Clement and was ridden by Joe Bravo.
