Sunday, June 12, 2011  Race 11

Main Track: Fast    Turf: Good

Finish Wire:

Get Stormy and Get Serious would run head to head for the lead through the opening three-quarters in 1:11.90.  Teaks North was able to rate off the leaders another three lengths back in third place as the field made its way through the far turn.  In the lane Get Stormy had finally put Get Serious away as the latter was starting to tire.  On the outside though Teaks North came up alongside the leader and passing the sixteenth pole pulled away to win The 2011 Monmouth Stakes by three-quarters of a length in a final time of 1:48.56.  Sleepless Knight finished well closing for second as postime favorite Get Stormy finished third after the early speed duel.  Teaks North is a four-year-old dark bay/brown gelding owned by Julia C. Boutelle, trained by Justin Sallusto and was ridden by  Eddie Castro.
