The Little Silver Stakes
$70,000
For Fillies, Three-Years-Old
One Mile
- Haskell Turf Course
Sunday, May 29, 2011 Race 10
Main Track: Fast
Turf: Firm
Finish Wire: |
After the break Salary Drive led Skating and
Artisanal through a half-mile in 48.50. Artisanal was looking for
room behind a wall of horses as the field made its way through the
far turn while Oak Marsh moved three wide. In the lane Skating put a head in front as Salary Drive was still dug in gamely in second.
Oak Marsh was three wide but starting to weaken as Artisanal moved
off the rail and split foes while driving to the lead, in deep
stretch, before drawing
off nearing the wire to win The 2011 Little Silver Stakes by a
length and a half in a final time of 1:35.77. Salary
Drive was second while Skating held on for third. Artisanal is a
three-year-old dark bay/brown filly owned by Starlight Racing,
trained by Todd A. Pletcher and was ridden by Chris DeCarlo.
