Debonair Darling led the field through the opening three-quarters in
1:10.16 carrying a head length advantage into the lane while Check
Point moved four wide into the lane now in second position.
Successful Song overtook Amazing in third as she was starting to
back up. In deep stretch Check Point rallied outside and drew off
to win The 2011 Lighthouse Stakes by two and three-quarter lengths
in a final time of 1:43.09. Debonair Darling held on for second
while Successful Song was third. Check Point is a five-year-old bay
mare owned by Richard Santulli, trained by Alan E. Goldberg and was
ridden by Carlos Marquez, Jr.
