For Three-Year-Olds

One And One-Eighth Miles - Monmouth Turf Course

Monday, July 4, 2011   Race 10

Main Track: Fast    Turf: Good

Finish Wire:

Umbraggio and Kentucky Reign bumped at the start when Distorted Appeal broke out while Freud’s Honour went to the lead.  Crossed The Line and Beachcombing tracked the leader through the opening half mile of 50.05 and three-quarters in 1:14.57.  Monzon was three wide trying to contend with the front runners as the field moved through the far turn.  In the lane Freud’s Honour started to draw away after the comfortable early fractions to win The 2011 Choice Stakes by a length and half at the wire in a final time of 1:49.49.  Beachcombing got a rail trip good for second while Crossed The Line finished evenly for third.  Freud’s Honour is a three-year-old bay colt owned by Raymar Stables LLC, trained by Gregory D. Sacco and was ridden by Angel Serpa.
