After a good start Pure Disco would lead Elite Miss and Heckuva Good time through the opening quarter and half miles in 22.09 and 44.78.  Pure Disco would carry a one length lead into the lane and held the lead nearing the eighth pole until a greenish running Heckuva Good Time, while trying to duck inside, took the lead late and went on to win The Open Mind Handicap by a length and three-quarters in a final time of 1:09.73.  Pure Disco held on for second while Talkin About Love was another head back in third.  Heckuva Good Time is a four-year-old bay filly owned by Golden Dome Stable, trained by Mark Shuman and was ridden by Jose Lezcano.

Heckuva Good Time, with Jose Lezcano in the irons, wins The Open Mind Handicap.
