One Mile - Turf Course

Saturday, May 24, 2008 Race 9

Main Track: Fast    Turf: Firm

Finish Wire:

Buddy's Humor took the lead from Lord Robyn after a half-mile and never relinquished the lead again holding off Yankee Master by a half-length at the wire to win The Elkwood Stakes in a final time of 1:34.14 . Yankee Master was second while Icy Atlantic managed third through heavy traffic in a spill entering the stretch when Silent Roar fell near the front of the pack causing horses behind (Classic Campaign, Jersey Kid and others) to either spill or steady.  Buddy's Humor is a four-year-old bay colt owned by Kingfield Stable, trained by Bruce Levine and was ridden by Jose Lezcano.
