Maryfield picked up the pieces from swift early fractions set by Dream Rush (21.29, 44.19) running down the leaders, from off the pace, in the lane to win The Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint in a final time of 1:09.4. Miraculous Miss finished a half-length back in second while Miss Macy Sue finished third. Maryfield is a six-year-old bay mare owned by Mary Gorman, Nick Mestrandrea and Jim Perry, trained by Doug F. O'Neill and was ridden by Elvis Trujillo.
