EZ Warrior and Unbridled Trust blazed through the opening half-mile as EZ Warrior put the later away in the lane only to be caught 50 yards from the wire by Cobalt Blue. Cobalt Blue would win The Select Stakes by a half-length on the wire in a final time of 1:10.54.  EZ Warrior settled for second while Appealing Spring finished well for third.. Cobalt Blue is a three-year-old chestnut colt, owned by The Merv Griffin Ranch Co, trained by Doug F. O'Neill and was ridden by Garrett Gomez.
