In the lane Midnight Lute completed a six wide move and ran pass the leaders going on to win The TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint, by four and three-quarter lengths, in the final time of 1:09.18. Idiot Proof finished second while Talent Search held on for third. Midnight Lute is a four-year-old dark bay/brown colt owned by Mike Pegram, Watson & Weitman Performance LLC, trained by Bob Baffert and was ridden by Garrett Gomez.
