Cosmonaut led the field through both turns getting fractions of 24.26, 49.54 and 1:14.65 before giving way to Kip Deville and Excellent Art in deep stretch. Kip Deville kicked on to win The NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile, by a length, in a final time of 1:39.78. Excellent Art was second while early pacesetter, Cosmonaut, was third. Kip Deville is a four-year-old grey/roan colt owned by IEAH Stables, A. Cohen, J. Roberts, S. Cohen, R. Cobb and D. Robertson, trained by Richard E. Dutrow, Jr., and was ridden by Cornelio Velasquez.
