Shortly after the break War Pass took the lead and made every pole a winning one carving fractions of 22.76 and 45.56 and drew off to win The Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile by four and three-quarter lengths in a final time of 1:42.76. Pyro was second and Kodiak Kowboy was third. War Pass is a two-year-old dark bay/brown colt owned by Robert V. LaPenta, trained by Nicholas P. Zito and was ridden by Cornelio Velasquez.
