Rain of epic proportion was on tap for the abbreviated four-day Breeders' Cup race meeting as Monmouth Park's ground crew became some of the key participants keeping the event from being cancelled. The torrential rains kept the racing surfaces labeled less than perfect but that didn't stop a handful of the world's best race horses from reaching the winner's circle including Curlin above. After a long three-year-old campaign knocking heads with horses such as Hard Spun and Street Sense, Curlin proved at the end of the day that he was the best of the best winning the Breeders' Cup Classic - Powered By Dodge, in a runaway victory.
