| After the break Portsea, the postime favorite, went
to the front and led the field from gate to wire getting fractions of 21.86,
44.85 and 1:10.23 winning The Just Smashing Stakes by a length on the wire.
Golden Locket was back early on and started her rally at the quarter pole
just missing at the wire settling for second as it was another four lengths
back to All Platinum in the show spot. Portsea is a three-year-old bay filly
owned by Vinery Stables, trained by Todd A. Pletcher and was ridden by Chris
DeCarlo. |
